Lake Powell is located on the Utah / Arizona border
in high desert country. While summers can get very hot
(105° in July and August), as well as the occasional
snow flurry during the winter and very early spring,
most of the year lake visitors enjoy comfortable, sunny
weather.
During March through June, when the water temperature
calls for wetsuits, the outside temps provide the season's
best hiking and fishing weather. This is pre-crowd
season and popular with the locals, serious skiers &
wakeboarders, fishermen and veteran boaters.

Late June, July and August is all out summer
vacation weather. The lake is the most crowded during
these months, but it's a big lake with plenty of room
to seek out a private cove or beach.
In September and October, once the kids have
gone back to school and the desert air cools a bit,
the veteran houseboaters return. The waters are perfect
for swimming and sports, but the days and nights are
cooler - perfect for hiking and comfortable sleeping
under the stars. Fall fishing is generally excellent
with the Bass feeding aggressively as they get ready
for winter.

Don't forget wintertime on Lake Powell. Beginning in
November, hikers and photographers descend on
the lake and surrounding canyons to take advantage of
the immense calm that befalls the area. The air is crisp
and human traffic sparse. Many of the beautiful watercraft
docked and buoyed permanently on the lake host holiday
gatherings, and the marinas host their annual Parade
of Lights over Thanksgiving weekend. Open year 'round,
Lake Powell has something for everyone.
